I bought tickets in july of 2007. I walked out of my job so I could go see them. I was so excited that I dropped my phone in the parking lot. I was so upset! I was going to take pictures with my camera phone!! I had floor seats, row 6!! The guy next to me said he would email his pictures to me but never did. The concert was great. I got my tour shirt and Robert locked eyes with me. But it still sadnens me that I didnt get any photos. I was going to go to Arizona so I could see them but i severly injured my right knee level 4. so if anyone could share some of their photos, I would really appreciate it.

Hey guys! I've got tix to see The Cure on the 29'th in Santa Barbara. For this show, I actually have floor tickets. I have NEVER had floor tix for the Cure. I'm super super excited for the show. Anyways....

I plan on arriving very early and securing a spot in the front. I'm just wondering where Robert will stand. It would suck to plant myself in the middle, only to find out he's on the far left side of the stage or something. Hopefully someone out there has seen them before than and can give me a heads up on where he spends most of his time. Thnx guys!

Tomas Diablo and special guest DJ John (New Wave City) spin your favorite tracks from the Cure, as well as the best Dark Electro, Industrial, New Wave, and Goth. It will be Hot Hot Hot!!!

Strangelove is first Fridays at Julie's Supper Club (7th and Folsom)! The spacious dancefloor is in a separate room from the gorgeous bar and lounge, so you always have the option to dance or to enjoy drinks and conversation in the lounge. Looking for a ride out of downtown SF to the download festival this Saturday

Hey guys. I am probably coming up to SF this weekend from LA for decom. Since the LA Cure shows have been rescheduled until May, it would be silly for me not to also see The Cure while I am up there.

If I go, I will be taking the bus up. The bus station is at 425 Mission St. and I'll be staying just a couple of blocks away. No one I know from SF is going to the festival.

Is anyone going that has extra space and can easily pick me up??? I've got gas $$$!!! :)
I'd also love to meet other Cure fans!

Saw The Cure ten hours ago .. amazing!

Just woken up after having seen The Cure merely ten hours ago at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia. Amazing show. 14,000 audience. Played for three hours and fifteen minutes. Played everything you'd want them to play and much more covering material from their entire career. Three encores consisting of 4 songs per encore. Exhausting but exhilarating

I have a copy of 1990's "Never Enough/Harold and Joe" on a mint LP from the UK, along with the book "Songwords." Where would I find the value of these? I had bought these for a friend whom, by the time I returned home from the UK, had moved and they have been sitting here waiting since. Is there even a secondary market? Thanks so much!

smith goes bananas

I love the cure as much as anyone else in this group, but honestly I think robert smith is losing it. Lately it seems like he is just making one bad decision after another. He sold out to commercials, provided a theme song for that dragon tales show, did a song with blink 182, fired critical members of the band, and made that self titled album that merely shadowed their potential. He even came up with those new, watered down versions of songs like "boys don't cry" and "close to me" for the live shows, and they suck! I hate to say it but maybe he should take a lesson from jerry seinfeld and quit while he's ahead. I'm sure a bunch of people want to ream me for this post but come on! It's disappointing! Does anyone agree with me on this?

New Cure Album To Be A Double Album

I got this off The Cure fan site "Chain of Flowers"... and it came from the official website....

The new album WILL be a double, isn't finished yet, but nears completion.

- About the new album, Robert says its "MUSIC TO LIVE AND DIE TO NOT SELL"

- The North American tour will be 20 dates, and Download will be the only festival date in N.A. The other 19 dates will be "Cure Shows".

- The confirmed dates for Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia should be posted within a week, possibly this weekend.

- 99% of the shows between now and March 2008(!) are confirmed, but can't be announced just yet.

- Other tour stops mentioned are South America, Europe and......New Zealand!

Just say Yes

So I just got done watching the DVD of the Greatest Hits. Back when it came out, I really really loved the new song "Cut here", but did not at all like "Just say Yes". There are some Cure songs that I am less fond of than others, but this was the first I can truly say I did not like at all. Today when the video for the song came on, I thought maybe age and time would change my opinion. NO! I dislike it more than ever now that I have seen the video. Especially with the blonde bouncy pop star looking girl singing over his shoulder. Who was that? Anyhoo...

I'd like to hear the opinions of others. Is it just me? What am I not getting about this song? Is it really as horrible as I think it is???

From his really early funky-pop, to the more slick and cohesive '1999' and the musical spectacular of his 'Purple Rain' era majesty, what really seemed to confuse folks was the name change to a symbol, 'the artist formerly known as prince' became the proper way to refer to the man now that his name was an unpronounceable symbol. It just left many of us bemused, did it not?

Anyone have a line on when they are ever going to get around to giving the older stuff they released on VHS the full DVD treatment?
It is a shame that to get "In Orange" you have to pay thru the nose and settle for a crummy VCD.

anyone ever heard the cure's love song redone by tool?if not you''ve got to find it,and jam.i personally think it's one of the best cover's ever,i know 311 did one of the same song,but it pales in comparison.it can't be found on any official tool releases,so you gotta search the web.i'm a huge fan of both groups,and anyone else that is should definitly check it out.

Which Cure songs do you think are the most over-looked?

I'm wondering what Cure songs everyone thinks are over-looked. I myself have alway leaned more towards their b-sides than the album tracks. The reason I'm asking is because I'll be DJing a Cure tribute night in SF on January 13th and refuse to just play the "hits".

so far i'm leaning towards This Twilight Garden, The Big Hand, To The Sky, How Beautiful You Are, and Dredd Song.

ok, ive been racking my brain.....about a week ago i got the greatest hits music video collection, and in one of the new songs "just say yes" there is a a female backup vocalist only listed on the credits as "saffron". am i going crazy or does she seem familiar, and if so, why? where does she come from? was she in another band?

Does it bother anyone else...

...the The Cure used backing tapes at Live 8? I don't think they added anything. It wouldn't have sounded just as good without them. In fact, I think the backing tape hindered "Open." On the album the tempo speeds up as the song goes on, which I think captures that feeling of intoxication. At Live 8, I think the tape prevented a tempo change. Does anyone know if they used backing tracks at the recent festival in Spain?

Cure guitar for sale

I bought a black on black fretless Fernandes Native (with a Sustainer Pickup and a Roland Midi pickup and controls built in at the factory) from Reeves Gabrels (David Bowie, The Cure) It's an amazing instrument! I'm done with it now and would love to find it a good home.
This guitar was played in the cure by Reeves.
No reasonable $$$ offer refused...

Alright, I recently picked up the remastered versions of Faith and Three Imaginary Boys, and I'm satisfied with the quality (it's significantly better than previous CD incarnations). However, does anyone else think that the second CD's they come packaged with are kind of superfluous? Don't get me wrong, I love "Faith", but I scarcely need three different demo versions of it. Does anyone else think it's a bit un-needed?

The Cure at Live 8

Did anyone get to see ANY portion of the Cure's performance at Live 8? 8 hours of watching it on Mtv and nothing?!?? Unless I missed a nanosecond flash, the only performer from the Paris stage who got any real air time seemed to be Shakira. Ugh. Why didn't our boys get any notice on Mtv? They were the Paris show's grand finale weren't they? Should I have been watching the concerts on another channel? Will their set be one of those available for download (for a fee with proceeds going to ONE)?

Ugh! So happy with that, then I actually read the messages and find out that "THIS WILL BE A GUITAR CURE" and "NO KEYBOARDS!". Well that's disappointing, but still great to have Porl back for however long it is. So they HAVE to open with 'Open' at Live 8, right? : ) "

I'd like to say hello to all fellow Cure fans in this tribe.
We just played our first show with the new line-up at New Wave City's Black & Black Ball in San Francisco last week. And we would like to thank everyone who was there for all the support and dancing. We played that night as Baby Screams but we are changing the name back to Japanese Baby.
We have another show lined up at Studio Z in July. If anyone in this group knows a keyboard player, in the Bay Area, that loves The Cure, that would be interested in playing this show with us, have them contact us.
